War Stories
This exploration of theatre and war, of destruction and creativity was initiated in 2002 when Meeting Ground brought together companies from Algeria, Palestine and Serbia at the Sibiu International Theatre Festival in Romania.
After two major collaborations with the United Nations Office of Missing Persons and Forensics in Kosovo and a varied programme of productions and workshops with companies in Algeria, Serbia, Italy, Turkey and Palestine (including the creation of an interactive web site) Az has currently three key extensions of this work:

MILLITH KARAV is a special extension to Kashmir of the methodologies and preoccupations of the WAR STORIES project. GAZA DRAMA presented the work of Theatre for Everybody from Gaza, Palestine on July 17th 2007. Because of the closures to the Gaza Strip, Theatre For Everybody’s two founder members, Jamal Al Rozzi and Hossam Madhoun were unable to come. Az Theatre decided to create an event that would be a presentation of their work against the background of the recent history and current situation in Gaza and to follow this up with a public telephone call to Jamal and Hossam that could be shared by the whole audience.
